Information Technology Olympics

The Information Technology Olympics is a competition for over 1000 participants, whose IT knowledge goes far beyond the standard curriculum requirements at school.

Around 100 pupils are qualified to the great final. Among the laureates are Poland’s best IT specialists, who can become some of the best experts both in Poland and abroad.

The participants have to show numerous IT skills. The task set before them each year consists in identifying and specifying the actual algorithm problem hidden in the carefully prepared task, then discussing possible solutions (algorithms) and choosing the best one, creating suitable data structures, programming the solution in the programming language of choice, and thorough testing of the resulting program.

The stages of solving the competition task coincide with actual stages of solving real problems encountered by every software developer.Asseco Poland is the co-organizer of the Olympics, and treats it as an investment in the future of young people, and also as a forging place of IT talents.

Only long-term actions supporting the development of young engineers will give Polish companies the chance to use their knowledge and skills in the future.
